The GMID

The GMID

Meetings Industry Day

What the day is for

GMID’s public purpose is outward. The day exists so that people who do not plan meetings can hear why a congress uses a city, why a trade show needs freight docks, why an incentive trip is written into a sales budget. Inward professional development happens all year at MPI institutes. This date is the civic hour.

Advocacy is not the same as lobbying a specific subsidy. A chapter can invite a mayor without asking for a new arena. A coalition can publish jobs figures without writing a bill. Readers should keep that distinction when a headline treats GMID as a campaign stop.
